IC 1396 - The Elephant Trunk Nebula - a large concentration of Hydrogen emission region in Cepheus. The area of the nebula, shown at the right, looks much like the trunk of an Elephant thus the name. It's a large dense region of Hydrogen being ionized by stars in the aftermath of a major supernova event.26 x 180s @ ISO 1600 - f/6
